At Coure Comunitats en Transició we are committed to promoting a transition towards a more sustainable economy. Our team has many years of experience promoting renewable energies, citizen mobilisation and social enterprises .
Coure, a consumer cooperative
Coure is established in accordance with article 110 of the Ley de Cooperativas 1/2003 of March 20, and article 22 of the Estatuto de consumidores y usuarios de las Illes Balears, as a Cooperativa de Consumidores y Usuarios. The deed of incorporation before a notary was on August 25, 2023, and we are registred in the Llibre d'inscripció de societats cooperatives, page 948, entry 1 of the Govern de les Illes Balears. Our team
Esther Piñeiro, graduate in philosophy, is an expert in negotiations with companies, conflict management and gender policies. She worked for many years at at Comisiones Obreras. She has been involved in multiple environmental social movements, both at organizational and activist levels. She is the President of Coure, and member of our Governing Council.
Xavier Camps is a technical engineer, has participated in the design of Menorca's Strategic Guidelines on energy (DEM-e) and is co-author of the Menorca 2030 Strategy, a roadmap to decarbonize the island's energy system. He has also worked as a technician at the Energy Office of the Consell Insular, advising on renewables and energy efficiency, and has experience in consulting and energy management. Furthermore, he has participated in different sustainability awareness initiatives and is involved in social movements working on sustainability in Menorca.
Jose María García, Law graduate, has 25 years of experience in legal advice in the social and business economy, public relations, and the promotion of solutions to socially challening problems. He is Secretary of Coure, and member of the Governing Council.
Jesús Cardona, architect and founding partner of Coure, he has been the coordinator of the DEM-e for the Institut Menorquí d'Estudis and co-author of the Menorca 2030 Strategy. From his architecture studio he has worked to reduce resource consumption and architectural and environmental restoration. He has been a key promoter of the Renewable Energy Community Association in the Sant Lluís business park.
Hugo Sintes is an economist and MBA from ESADE. He has developed his career in the social economy, supporting dozens of cooperatives and social enterprises. He has worked for organisations such as Oxfam, Big Society Capital, The Big Issue and social housing organizations in the UK, Spain and other countries. He currently works in the management of an agricultural farm and is a member of the Board of Directors of two NGOs in the United Kingdom; and combines this work with strategic support to social enterprises and impact investment initiatives in Spain. He is Coure's Interventor (Treasurer or Financial Controller).
We also have the support of an installer with experience in dozens of projects with solar panels in Menorca.
